Some applicant may ask for keys to be released several days before the commencing of the lease agreement.  It is not recommended unless you have:

• obtained the landlord's permission; and

• setup / registered utilities account(s) which should be effective on or before the key release day; and

• purchased the tenant's insurance; and

• prepared any other agreed procedures and documents prior to the occupancy.

If possible, ask your agent to go together with you to check the unit on key release.​

Take photos for acceptable minor defects and communicate with the landlord as for future reference.
