Documents to be ready before your residential rental offer:

1. Copy of Photo ID (can be driver’s license, PR cards or Passport);

2. Full set of credit scores report (from institution like equifax, transUnion for your credit rating);

3. Employment verification or reference letter from your company;

4. Fill in the Rental Application Form 410 (copyright of Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA)).

if your are self-employed, landlord may ask you docs for reviewing your income level and stability.

in some situations, landlord may ask applicant to provide paid-stubs for income verification.

landlord and listing agent may call your current landlord, employer and acquaintance for reference per your information provided in the Rental Application Form.

   

Cases would not all be the same (particularly for students), please check with your agent for the landlord's requirements.
